Events: October is Flavors Month


The popular Flavors of Florida's Historic Coast will return in October. Flavors is a month-long promotion of St. Augustine's unique culinary traditions that features a wide range of local restaurants. Each participating restaurant offers a prix fix (fixed price) menu that features a meal that captures the flavorful culinary traditions of Florida's Historic Coast.

This year (2011) there will be more than 20 participating restaurants from Crescent Beach to Ponte Vedra.

The website is in process of being updated with new menus as they come in, but click here to take a look at the 2010 menu offerings, and to watch for 2011 menu offerings.

ST AUGUSTINE ART ASSOCIATION LECTURE PRESENTATION * FRIDAY * JULY 22

Learn about the area's coastal birds during a presentation by Monique Borboem-Abrams, of Florida Audubon. Monique's presentation, St. Augustine Coastal Birds, will take place at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are required. EXHIBIT OPENING
See works created by six creative and imaginative minds when Galeria del Mar unveils it latest exhibition. The featured artists include Worley Faver (hand-coiled pottery); Jeffrey Terreson (oil and wax); Peter Mars (Pop art); Dmitri Danish (cityscapes); Josef Kote (expressionist) and Ira Reines (bronze and acrylic sculptures). OLDEST STORE MUSEUM

Visit the "new" Oldest Store Museum Experience now located at Historic Tours of America, 167 San Marco Avenue in St. Augustine. Once a popular attraction in the Oldest City, the museum was closed for 10 years, but is now open daily in a new location. Chase the big ones in this exciting competition that offers cash and prizes for the biggest catch. Registration is limited to 400 boats. Celebrity Sighting: Capt Jack Sparrow


This young gentleman stayed with us last week. When asked for his name, he muttered, "Captain Jack." Obviously travelling incognito "Captain Jack" was here with his father and grandparents. AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH!
